The Orsay Museum is housed in the former Gare d’Orsay, an impressive Beaux-Arts railway station built in 1900. The museum holds mainly French Art dating from 1848 to 1915, including paintings, sculptures, furniture and photography.  It is best known for its extensive collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces (the largest in the world) by such painters as Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Sisley, Seurat, Berthe Morisot, Toulouse Lautrec, Gauguin and Van Gogh. The normal duration of the visit is about 2h-2h30.

It is now time for your lunch break in a very nice, typical French restaurant or brasserie (lunch not included in the price) before following the Seine River to the Ile de La Cite where you will make a stop to have a private guided visit of the splendid Cathedral Notre Dame.

Then, you will discover from outside the Sainte Chapelle, the Conciergerie (former seat of the Royal power), the Hotel de Ville and the Ile St Louis before joining one of the most famous areas of Paris: the Marais district. There, you will have time for a small walking tour through the streets full of history with your personal guide that will take you to the first Royal Square in Paris: Place des Vosges.

After that, your personal guide will cross the Seine River to continue your journey on the Left Bank (the « Old Paris »), with the Latin Quarter (student quarter), the Sorbonne (university), the Pantheon (rest place of the great men of France), the Luxembourg Gardens, the Church St Sulpice, the Saint Germain district (home of many jazz musicians, writers and painters since the roaring twenties), where you will make a break in a French “patisserie” enjoying one of their delicious pastries.

After this culinary break, you will continue your ride along the French Institutethe Orsay Museum, the Concorde Square (the largest square in Europe where the French Revolution took the life of the King and the Queen), the Champs Elysées (most famous avenue in the world), the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, the Invalides, the Eiffel Tower where you will make a stop for photos before driving to Montmartre , the village of the artists (Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh…) and the highest place in Paris (with an incredible view) where your personal your guide will take you for a walking tour to discover its unique scenery, the famous place du Tertre with its cafés and shops and the eternal white Sacre Coeur Basilica before driving you back again to your hotel.
